Freight & Logistics Planning
Freight planning at Metro Analytics involves innovation at the intersection of economics, land use and transportation performance. Metro Analytics leaders have more than two decades of experience leading innovative freight studies for the economic and physical development of highways, air cargo, marine and rail transportation. The firm led one of the most comprehensive studies to date addressing trade on the Ohio River, is currently leading aviation and air-cargo planning initiatives in the Midwest, is developing new cutting edge freight economic impact forecasting tools for a ten-state FHWA pooled funds initiative, and has led more of the innovative land-use/economic “Freight Cluster” initiatives than any other firm.
Metro Analytics staff include rail executives, former FHWA leaders and seasoned economists who have spent their careers solving America’s most challenging freight and economic questions. Emerging areas of freight research in Metro Analytics include developing new NCHRP tools for defining the scope of inter-modal freight corridor management strategies, diagnosing and building coalitions to improve the resilience of supply chains, and integrating social equity and resilience into freight for Metropolitan areas.
